Size: 563 Bytes I reduce supplements in the summer (there are practically no additives except calcium) Because a variety of greens. But in winter, the diet of my iguanas is scarce (it is difficult to find a variety of salads in our city). So I give additives.

I agree, Sharon. On Johnny's first blood test, his Calcium levels were also high. Since then we monitored them about once per year until 2014. Now that it is not possible to do this, I just add Calcium and a multivitamin supplement and literally just hope for the best

I also act similarly. Because the qualification of local veterinarians is not very high. The last time the Juanita blood test was done after 6 times pricks in the skin.

Don’t you just hate it though, having the vet take blood? I so hate to put Malakai through that. My poor boy. But it’s in his best interest to have it done to make sure all is well.

Yes, Sharon, I understand that periodically it is necessary to take blood from reptiles. But these painful procedures are killing me.

I remember my poor baby was so scared. Once we tried 3 times, because he constricted his blood vessels due to shock.
But It is necessary I always carried some clementine to give him after, as treat.

It is a type of tangerine, very sweet and with no pit. Johnny loves it and I used it on numerous occasions to hide his medication.

Marianne, this is the main reason why we do not do a blood test every year.
