    I agree with Irina. At this point whatever caused the inflammation is cultured & it will stay that way without surgically removed.

    It is a good idea to seek what your vet will recommend.

    There is an opinion of my veterinarian that supposedly one can live with an abscess if the abscess does not increase. But you saw on the example of Boris, that the abscess is growing. At first the abscess in Boris's cheek was the size - less than the quail eggs. But at the end it was larger than a large chicken egg.
