    Serpent Temple

On the Malaysian island of Penang is the Taoist Serpent Temple, which is filled with a variety of snake species, many of which are poisonous
An interesting fact is that snakes practically do not touch anyone in the temple. The Serpent Temple is here for a reason, earlier on this place was located a shack of a solitary believing hermit Chor Su Kong, next to which snakes always lived. When the owner died at the age of 65, the temple was built in the place of his dwelling in which the shelter including his pets was found.
Unfortunately, there are many tourists to this temple. And for safety, the venomous glands of snakes are removed. But nevertheless this is an interesting place and its history.

It is very beautiful and interesting.
But the last photo sums up my feelings perfectly: Look at the dusty chair. I would not go there to dust the place even if they paid me. No problem with snakes, but how can I truly trust that they did a good job removing those glands?

That is pretty interesting. It is unfortunate that venom glands are removed, but at least the snakes have a safe environment where they are otherwise respected!

It is an amazing place. At least the snakes have a place to continue living.

You're right, Irina. I would love to visit this place in person.

I also find it unfortunate that the venom glands were removed but I do understand the safety reasons considering so many tourists visiting this place.
