    Thank you for the pictures.

    I agree with Irina's idea. setting grille around the door attracts iguana. It can also cause him to rub his nose against it.

    Maybe you can find some coated wire mesh like this one for temporary quick fix?

    I'm sorry this happened, I'm glad your little guy is doing okay. Will wait to hear from the vet.

    The vent ideas above are good ideas. For mine I used a panel from a bird cage, so it has rounded wire bars, no sharp edges. I don't know if it's something you can find, but it's the wire you find on dog crates. This is a wire oven rack, but the panel I used is something like this.

    I'm very sorry to let you waiting so long, Ollie is doing fine, his finger is looking much better. ;-) I protected the grid from inside by this:
