Yes. Thank you. The fact is that iguanas very often take everything in their mouths, that can be taken. Therefore, we do not recommend having any soil, mulch in the terrarium with an iguana.
You can use carpets from artificial grass for beauty. More in this thread: http://reptile-parrots.com/forums/sh...a-Green-Iguana

Im so glad you told me that, because i had actually been questioning that. I see him eating lettuce he dropped and he gets it in his mouth. Reason i questioned. It to myself is because when he first came home he got a little piece of mulch stuck in his lip. He was very agitated and I had to find the bravery to remove it, knowing he was going to bite. I said to my husband it didnt seem safe, but that what the pet store recomended. The pet store also said Otis was handled on regular basis, but i feel they were not truthful with us.

I have a completely different type of terrarium for Johnny.
His main area (his basking shelf) has pillows, then a heating under-blanket, then a waterproof sheet and on top I have cotton t-shirts.
T-shirts are changed as soon as they are soiled and washed on a 60C cycle. Every fourth cycle or so is at 90C. Waterproof sheet is washed every couple of months.

That sounds perfect. Otis habitat at moment is very temporary. I have been looking at a lot of different ideas. I have a nice size corner space I want to dedicate to him. Now that I know mulch is not a good idea for him... Changes some of my ideas. Any suggestions on how to start setting up a safe, fun, and relaxed enviroment is welcome, please.

You should start with the size of the terrarium.
In our article all details are indicated: ventilation, heating, UV, etc.
In addition there are examples of ready terrariums where you can take a lot of ideas. http://reptile-parrots.com/forums/sh...e-yours!-(new)
It is very useful to create a separate topic about construction. You show which terrarium you want to make. And if there are tips, we write about it. For example, we can tell you how to make a shelf, or how to install a heating lamp and UV, etc.

By the way, I really like the corner cabinets for reptiles. It takes up less space (visually). We have several examples on the forum.
